Young Africans S.C.

Young Africans Sports Club, locally known as Yanga, is a Tanzanian football club based in Dar es Salaam. Their home games are played at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium. It is one of the two biggest teams in Tanzanian football, their archrivals being Simba. Both teams are based in Dar es Salaam. The team's colors are yellow, green and black. Yanga has won more Tanzanian Premier League titles (i.e. 24 Titles) than their arch rivals Simba SC. However, Simba has fared much better on the continental stage than their archrivals. Yanga played their first game of the 2011 Kagame Castle Cup on 26 June 2011. Yanga managed to draw 2-2 against Al-Merreikh and the Sudanese team made a record by scoring all four goals (Yanga's goals were own goals)
After defeating Polisi Morogoro by 4-1, goals from Amis Tambwe who recorded his second hatrick of the season and Simon Msuva, Yanga were crowned champions for the 2014/2015 season with two games in hand. The game was played on 28/04/2015 at National Stadium which is the home ground for Yanga.
Shabani Nonda is the most notable player to play for the club. He had a stint with Yanga in the middle of the 1990s before heading to Vaal Professionals based in South Africa.
In February 1974 Young Africans played friendly match in Espírito Santo, Brazil country football, the stadium Engineer Alencar Araripe against Sports Railway losing 3-0.
